What is your level of compassion? Are there levels of compassion?

A definition of compassion is: sympathetic pity and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others.

Another definition: literally, a suffering with another; hence, a feeling of sorrow or pity excited by the sufferings or misfortunes of another; commiseration; pity.

One can see compassion in the application of many of the mitzvot(commandments) in the Torah (Five Books of Moshe).

What stands out very clear is the individual's care for, compassion for, and responsibility for the less fortunate in the community.

Another very important topic is proper conduct and compassion for the truly victimized and, restitution from the preparator.

Using the previous definitions of compassion, are we only to have compassion for people who are suffering? Perhaps compassion is simply about caring in general.
